Energy Management Firm Eyes Growth Potential in New Year
Company founded by pair of Morgantown natives expands services, adds jobs
MORGANTOWN, W. Va., November 13, 2018 – Relique Energy Management, a firm focused on mineral and land management, is capping off a record-setting year, with plans to grow their services in 2019. The firm is headquartered in Morgantown, West Virginia and was founded by natives John Perry and Todd Schweber. The pair’s team focuses their efforts on the Marcellus and Utica markets in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio. In addition to these traditional services, Relique Energy Management looks to meet the growing demands of the market with new offerings, including pipeline inspection and mine safety training with an MSHA-certified inspector.
“Despite a slowdown in the natural gas industry’s upstream activity, the company has seen growth this year, which will allow us to add jobs and expand our services even further in 2019,” says Relique Energy Managing Member John Perry. “Land and mineral transactions have grown two times year over year and the momentum is continuting through the fourth quarter.”
Born and raised in Morgantown, both Perry and Schweber have strong ties to the area community. John Perry has extensive experience with land, minerals, petroleum and natural gas, while Todd Schweber brings a strong background in capital markets, technology and marketing.
As an asset management firm, Relique Energy Management seeks to assist land and mineral owners with legal, marketing, sales, technology, capital and operational resources. The team looks to help the owners deliver strong returns to investors, all in a more streamlined process. Through the expanded suite of services, Relique Energy Management hopes to meet the vast needs of the natural resources market in their home state and beyond.
“2018 has been tough as oil and gas operators have been fairly idle in expanding their positions in West Virginia,” says Relique Energy Managing Member Todd Schweber. “Relique Energy takes trends very serious and through The REM Report, which covers conditions and trends in the Appalachian Basin mineral market, we see a decrease in leasing by 50% and climbing as a result of the almost non-existent expansion of E&Ps which has spurred an increase in mineral sales by an astonishing 380%. The company continues to be well positioned to service mineral buyers and sellers while maintaining the ability to staff resources needed throughout the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors of the Appalachian Basin.”
Relique Energy Management services clients in Brooke, Doddridge, Harrison, Lincoln, Marion, Marshall, Monongalia, Ritchie, Tyler and Wetzel Counties in West Virginia; Greene and Washington Counties in Pennsylvania; and Belmont, Monroe and Washington Counties in Ohio.
